With this crown,I give my loyalty. With these hands,I offer my service. With this heart,I give you mine.Always and everMy love ever true,Always and everShall be my love for you. While I give you my heart,Let you never break it.While I give you my fealty,Let you never shake it.Yet I give you my thirstAnd I ask you to slake it.In Love, in Friendship let us reign.— Love of The Claddagh, by Jillian Godsil. The Claddagh is a visual portrayal of the eternal bond of friendship, loyalty, and love. The heart symbolises love, life’s finest impulse. From it, generosity and compassion flows. The hands of friendship are clasped around the heart in a gesture of giving. As they cradle the heart gently, the hands are both protective and strong, like true friendship. The crown is symbolic of loyalty. It represents the reward of love, the highest achievement the human spirit has yet accomplished. To give the Claddagh is to forge the hands of love, friendship, and loyalty forever.

With this crown,
I give my loyalty.
With these hands,
I offer my service.
With this heart,
I give you mine.

Always and ever
My love ever true,
Always and ever
Shall be my love for you.

While I give you my heart,
Let you never break it.
While I give you my fealty,
Let you never shake it.
Yet I give you my thirst
And I ask you to slake it.

In Love, in Friendship let us reign.
